CAFETERIA CHRISTIANS - ! Devotional 12

Before I begin I would like to apologize for being a bit long.

Recently I have become what seems to me to known as the most hated oppresser on Facebook. What am I oppressor of? Gay rights.

Some people would call me a Christian fundamentalist. I assure you I am none such the kind. This issue of Gay marrige presented itself to me, when I was watching YouTube and the Iowa Supreme Court on same sex couples.

As this is a very hot button topic, it is obvious to see their are many opinions. I only heard of Facebook's thoughts on this issue yesterday. To show you what I mean by that I will post there recent reaction I had recieved from people on this issue.

If numbers is what you want , than I can tell you this much. I posted my reaction to the news out of Iowa in my Facebook Status and with in 40 minutes, I recieved 76 comments.

With that being said here are the response..... You can view the response this topic by click this link. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=510867355&v=feed&story_fbid=69574007750

Amongst all the uproar of this issue. I have something to say that can hopefully allow people to understand how I was feeling.

Growing up if I learned anything from my parents at all it is this, "God is put first in your life."
I don't like these snarly responses but some of you, at all. You pick apart the bible to support your "theroies" Some people said to me yesterday , how can I be so closed minded. "I should be a Christian" A Christian is accepting and loving.
Then I heard some thoughts from numerous on this topic.

To me it seemed that they were bringing more anger into their statements and arguements rather than purpose and reason. From my view on yesterdays discussions I gathered this. People want to have a loving and respectful God. However they don't want to take responsibillity for their actions. Some people don't realize that believing in Jesus means to have a CONSTANT relationship. To those others If you say your truly Christian than you would cast your wants out of our lives and put them second to God's. What really gets me fustrated with people is the fact that people believe if they know who Jesus is than that is enough. Well thats not it at all.

Maybe people feel like following God's standards is too difficult. To them I have this answer, Romans 3:23 (New International Version)

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

It is difficult but its not impossible.

Lets take a look at some other verses.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

The Bible calls Satan the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4, KJV), and in this age we can never be completely free of his influence. It contaminates all aspects of life today—politics, music, entertainment, education, and even religion. The apostle Paul described Satan as the "prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (Ephesians 2:2).

Satan can prey on attitudes, moods and feelings. He is especially tuned to negative emotions like vanity, pride, hurt feelings, revenge and lust. He is ready to fan the embers of discontentment into flames of hatred, and is always eager to coax the first stirring of temptation into the reality of sin. (Temptation, when resisted, is not sin. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan, but he did not sin.) Wherever human beings are, he is there also, waiting for those moments when a man, woman or even a nation can be tempted, deceived and started on the road to ruin.

Satan’s rule as "god of this world" will be over when he is removed and replaced by Jesus Christ at his return. But until that happens, we must be aware of him. Aware, but not afraid. "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you," advises James 4:7.

To resist spiritual influence, you need spiritual power. Human beings were created in the image of God, but with a physical frame. How do we get the spiritual power to resist Satan and worship God in "spirit and in truth"?

This Gay rights thing is just the beginning to the end of the world and judgement passed by God.

Final thought
