CHRIST IS ON THE MAIN STAGE Devotional 10

This devotional has been on my mind over the passed few weeks and it only seems to grow stronger as time presses on. Saturday afternoon I talked about matters of faith with a good friend of mine, when Sunday and church rolled around the Pastor Stan spoke of the olive grove where the Romans arrested Jesus. What conviction I had that day.

I reflected on the discussion with my friend, who shall in this instance be refered simply as "M." She and I talked about how faith gets sometimes persecueded even more sometimes they don't feel as an important acknoledged or seem to be accepted by many people. I Am devot follower of Christ and she is of UU faith. (I know what your probably thinking (Uh-No Holy war.) Actually it was none such the thing, we both spoke about our beliefs without ripping eachothers heads off...

Because I am a PROUD CHRISTIAN! I asked her what are her church services like. She stated there are many different things going on, the church is very open and friendly. Which I thought was cool, no doubt.

I felt "BOLD" so I asked what does her church study from, The Holy Bible?
She said no, not often so honesty that was like a big "thumbs down." But reguardless I seeked for answers, I asked her what good is church without the word of God in it. I asked her what she believed in, and she responded as say Jesus is one "cool guy." I'm going to paraphrase here, anyway she stated , he preached love, peace and respect and thats about all I believe.
I kind of thought "her faith was like caferteria food, you pick an choose what you want to eat and thats how you get your fill."

To me it didn't seem like I was fully trusting her believing in Jesus and not God, talk about your "sour grapes and sweet lemons" effect. Reguardless of how felt I still heard what she had to say. Today we look into the book of Mathew. Mat 4-1:11

1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Deuteronomy 8:3 (King James Version)

3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

I can understand that a lot of people seem to think that God and Jesus are just one big story, but I tell you the truth its not, If you want to know why people follow God , it is because the conviction of the Holy Spirit is working on them.
