Inside the courtroom- Devotional 45 READ Psalm 51

Imagine you stand before a jury and judge convicted of a speeding ticket. All the evidence points to your guilt. Theres just simply no way you can escape your sentence. The fine is $250.000. Suddenly suddenly a stranger you don't know pays the court its settlement. The court than says you are free to go, because the debt has been paid.

Now the same could be said to you on the day of judgement. Lets look at the moral standards of Gods law.

Thou shall not steal. Have you stolen anything? If even its little?
Thou shall not lie? have you ever told a lie? Even a little white lie? What does that make you? A Liar.
Thou shall not commit adultrey. But see theres a catch- Jesus said if a man even looks at a woman to lust after her he has already committed adultrey with her in his heart. Have you ever looked at a woman with lustful thoughts?
Have you ever idoled a god? - If your answer is no wait for a second to examine the real truth. If you have this image of God who is all loving and forgiving and just lets everyone into heaven reguardless of the amounnt of sins they have committed. Than youn are idoltares. If you think that that God is all loving and all forgiving , you would correct, but to suguest that he's not going to judge for the things you did. Is not exactly the right way of thinking. If you think that God himself is vennageful aganist you and will cast you down to Hell. You would be mistaken, God doesn't do that, that is caused by the way God examines your sins. In the same way dust on a coffee table is shown when light is shown on to it.

How do we get out this problem, its quiet simple REPENT OF YOUR SIN. Open your mouth and speak to the Lord with all your heart. A good way to start is Paslm 51.
I would call Palsm 51 - a sinners prayer. Take a look...

Psalm 51
For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts [a] ;
you teach [b] me wisdom in the inmost place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will turn back to you.

14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God,
the God who saves me,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 The sacrifices of God are [c] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper;
build up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices,
whole burnt offerings to delight you;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

On that not if you wish to see how you measure upto the Lord you don't have to look far than in the book of Exdous.

Exodus 20 (New International Version)

Exodus 20
The Ten Commandments
1 And God spoke all these words:

2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

3 "You shall have no other gods before [a] me.

4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

13 "You shall not murder.

14 "You shall not commit adultery.

15 "You shall not steal.

16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

18 When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance 19 and said to Moses, "Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die."

20 Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning."

21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.
Idols and Altars
22 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell the Israelites this: 'You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven: 23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.

24 " 'Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, [b] your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you. 25 If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it. 26 And do not go up to my altar on steps, lest your nakedness be exposed on it.'

If you have any questions you can either do 1 of four things.

1. You make a clear decision that today youe going to pick up your dusty old bible sitting in the corner of your house and begin to read the word and let God take a hold of your heart to transform you.
2. You can visit www.needGod.com, www.Livingwaters.com, www.wayofthemaster.com
3. Go speak to your church its never to late to talk to someone about God, people are there to guide you if you have questions.
4. Pray!!!
